Mr. Nassim Oulmane
Ag. Director of the Climate Change, Food Security and Natural Resource Management Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) at its headquarters in Addis Ababa, (Ethiopia). Nassim is an economist specialized in sustainable development, climate change, Carbon and Biodiversity, Inclusive Green Growth, international trade and development policy issues, as well as international economic relations. His recent work focuses on inclusive green and blue economy and structural transformation in Africa as well as climate finance and sustainable development. Nassim is the coordinator of the African Regional Forum for Sustainable Development that builds consensus on policy options and actions to accelerate the implementation of the SDGs, and prepares Africa’s collective regional input to the High-Level Policy Forum on Sustainable Development of the UN Economic and Social Council.
He has taught at several universities in Africa, Asia, and Europe and has held various economist positions in multiple economic institutions. He also coordinated the World Trade Organization Chairs Programme. He is the author of numerous books, including "Crise... Naufrage des économistes?" (De Boeck), "Introduction à la théorie de l'assurance" (Dunod), and "L'émergence en Méditerranée : Attractivité, investissements internationaux et délocalisations" (L'Harmattan). His research has been published in international journals such as the Journal of Economic Integration, Canadian Journal of Development Studies, Oxford Development Studies, Mondes en développement, Revue Économique, and Journal of Economic Development.
